Still trying to finish that Christmas shopping? At times like this it is so easy to grab the first thing we see that reminds us of someone just to be done shopping.
So put down the snuggie...
AND before you pick up that desktop pool table, which really isn't appropriate for any office,
here is a quick list of practical items (beyond socks and underwear):
- Dry cleaning gift certificates
- Memberships to the zoo or a museum
- Coffee gift basket (one with lots of regular coffee)
- House cleaning services (as long as they won't take this as an insult)
- Think summer: bbq, patio chairs, pool, outdoor anything
- Music Lessons
- Soup and cracker food basket
- Movie gift certificates - OK, maybe not practical but, we all like the theater
- Plate, bowl, cup sets
- Organizers & pocket calendars - electronic ones can usually be found relatively cheaply this time of year.
- Stock certificate - I know this one is over done but, money is always practical
- Remote car starter
- Rechargeable batteries with charger
- Butter dish, potato peeler, apple corer, ladle, corn on the cob holders and/or other small kitchen items.
- Netflix (see comment on #8)
- Pots and pans - especially large ones or nice quality ones
- Heaters or fans
- Heated blankets if they live in a cold area or have a wood heated home.
- Nice towels
- Photo album
- Picture frames
- Vaporizer especially if they have young children or suffer from allergies
- Gardening items - Spring is not that far away.
- Home hardware kit: Nails, tacks, small tools
- Car wash coupons
- Gift wrap basket - a basket full of deluxe bows, wired ribbon, very pretty tags and nice giftwrap.
- Tickets to a local play (again see comment on #8)
- Air or water purifiers
- Coats - Even for adults. A nice, warm, stylish coat is usually received well and most adults wear black well.
- Smoke alarms
- Food storage containers - these are forever getting lost in my home
- Something to support their hobby.

I love getting (and giving) gifts that are activities... manicures, movie tickets, play tickets, spas... especially if part of the gift means I get to spend the day with someone special!
Thanks Sharon for the great ideas!
