We get up early each morning to get the children fed, dressed and out the door for school. One morning I went outside to retrieve a forgotten lunch box from the car and was captivated by the wonderful atmosphere outside. It was that moment just after dawn when the whole world still seems sleepy, when birds are just starting to chirp, when you can just make out shadows and faint colors of the world around you. I took a moment breathed in the cold air and then went inside. I sent my sons outside and told them to look around. And without any more explanation watched as they experienced the same awakening as I had just experienced. Now, from time to time, they will go outside first thing in the morning just to take it all in. So I decided to have them help me create a breakfast table in our sun room.
Just a simple little table with chairs, using flannel, and everyday plates bowls and cups.

Very cute, and way to think outside the box!~Thanks for sharing. Debbie
I think this whole post is precious beyond words! I love it when my children can truly stop and smell the roses...or see the sunset...or the bright and vivid tones of a flower...it's a gift to see it through their eyes!!!! And I love the boys' tablesetting! What a wonderful mother you are! Blessings, Lana
That is fantastic...what a treat it would be to eat at that table. My son would love it. He would love to help create it too. Great job!

So cute! Love the tablescape!
Oh! I bet they loved it! What a treat - and lovely way to make them feel special.
(BTW, I'm not a morning person, but on the odd occasion when I get up really early, I love that feeling you described. It's magical!)
What a lovely spot to eat breakfast!
What a neat little area and memory you created for them! I love it. They look so civilized sitting there with with their mugs with candle light. As I type this, my daughter is throwing a section of her crescent roll at the dog and screaming at him for eating it. Such a different experience. When mine are older I want to try this. I love it!!
Thanks for linking up.
little changes can bring big fun
