The Third Saturday in May is Armed Forces Day

Armed forces day is celebrated throughout the world. In the United States it is celebrated on the third Saturday of the month of May.  It is a day to honor all who are currently serving in all of the branches of our military. This differs from Memorial day which is the last Monday in May. Memorial day remembers all who have died to serve this country. Armed forces day is traditionally celebrated with a parade, air show, ceremony or community celebration. These are often community sponsored events so a good place to check to see if there is one near you is the community calendar at your local chamber of commerce website.
