Creating Beautiful Beds

Just a little tour of the beds in my home and what I know about making them nice.

This is the bed in our master bedroom. It had to be elegant for me, but also something my husband would like so we settled on this inexpensive comforter and sheet set.

This is my teenager's bed, can you tell a teenager made this bed?

We gave these sheets to my tween at Christmas time, and because he loves penguins he only ever wants these sheets on his bed. So it is Christmas all year long for him.

Even a baby's bed can be wonderful.

Just some light covers for my toddler, I dress him in jamies for bed which are almost enough by themselves, but he is old enough now for a cover too.

Some tricks I have learned:

• To get ideas I look through furnature catalogs. 
• Place your top sheet print side down when making the bed so when you fold back the covers you see the print.
• You do not need an expensive set to have a nice bed. Most box stores, and places like Ross sell inexpensive sets that will make a bed wonderful.
• Buy the proper size pillow for the pillow case.
• A look at the pattern on the back of the comforter you choose. You see this pattern when folding back the covers.
• A lot of people like loads of pillows on their beds, but I have found with kids, these pillows end up everywhere and only add to clutter. Two proper size pillows are enough to give you bed a nice look.
• Often when people do the fancy pillow thing, they hide their regular pillow under a nicer one until bed time.
