This weekend my children and I got lost in a corn maze.
Totally lost.
It is our tradition every September.
Which path would you take?

The Maze we go to gives out little cards and has check points along the path.

At the check points there is a map. (Which doesn't help at all)

Here are my kiddos studying the map, which would end up being useless after the first time we were turned around.

Is taking a picture of the map with the phone cheating?

Someone else was marking arrows in the dirt as they went along.

We were completely surrounded by corn...

and loving it!

And thanks to these balloons near the entrance everyone did eventually make it back out again.

We have been to a couple of mazes over the years. I recommend finding one that has corn that is taller than an adult for the full "being lost" fun. Usually entrance fees are around $20 to $30 a family (depending on the farm). And often we can find coupons in the paper, or your community flier. Mazeplay.com has a collection of great mazes all over the U.S. (Just sharing the site for fun.)

Part of me is torn about going through a maze in a corn field... Too many movies involving creepy things happening in corn fields I guess! The adventurous me thinks it would be fantastic fun. I am going to check to see if we have anything like that down here. What a great family tradition! It looks and sounds like you and your family had a great time!

Tracy, there were too many people around for anything awful to happen. Lots of sunshine and kid laughter as well. When you find the right maze they are just a ton of fun.

And thanks Andrea!

Beautiful pictures! I love going through corn mazes. My daughter is 2 and we've never take her to one, I think this might be the year :) I'm your newest follower - I hope you're enjoying your Monday!

Fall is so much fun. I have never gone through a corn maze...afraid I would never find my way!

I've never done this but it sounds like a fun fall activity. I think. I am sure those who are directionally challenged are thankful they fly those balloons. ;)

I love the idea, but I would be hopelessly lost...I'm directionally impaired :-)

It must have been fun to go into a Corn Maze and then find your way out must have been very hard. Nice Outdoor Wednesday blog this week.

Due to the slow rains this summer some our corn mazes have stunted growth. Can't get lost in 3 foot high cornstalks. Loved exploring with your picture's.
