Christmas Photo Ideas {From my Calendar}

Today I make our Christmas photo plans. Studios fill up fast around the holidays and it takes them some time to develop the photos before you can pick them up. So in order to have photos ready to go into Christmas cards I schedule our appointment today. We also like to create some of our own Christmas photos just for the fun of sharing more candid ones with family.

A few ideas for fun holiday photos:

  • Dress up as elves, felt tipped shoes, long shirts with belts, elf or santa hats, in an outdoor setting.
  • Or dress everyone up as riendeers, red noses, antlers and brown clothing.
  • Wear pj's with hats/scarves and add the words "Mom in her kercheif and I in my hat" to the photo.
  • Use your photo editing softwear to add fun boarders or photo shop faces onto christmas photos.
  • Stand everyone around the piano and add the words "It's a wonderful life." to the photo.
  • Put a strand of lights in a basket that could double as a cradle dim the lights and have everyone look in the basket.
  • If you have lighted yard orniments such as deer, dress everyone in scarves and winter hats and take photos of them outside around the lighted ornaments during blue hour (just before dusk while it is still light enough to get a photo.)
  • And smile!
