Easy Wire Thanksgiving Pumpkins

Inspired by the candle lit wire pumpkins in stores and determined to make some wire pumpkins before Thanksgiving, I gathered my craft supplies and was ready for a fight.

Only to find that these were probably the easiest thing I have ever made in my life. Seriously.

I took 9 gauge wire that we had lying about left over from a home improvement project.
(9 gauge wire is a thicker, hard to bend, kind. Not impossible to bend but, difficult.)

I pulled out one end and bent it to make a stem.

Without uncoiling the wire I tied two pieces of smaller wire near the top and bottom of the round and reserved one piece of wire to be used later.

And here is where the MaGiC is. I thought I would have to make individual circles and then connect them all in the middle, but no! All I did was take the wire as it came out of the package and pulled it around to make a circle. Similar to the tissue paper decorations that have cardboard on each end that you pull around and form an orb.

See the two outer loops, pull them together to form the pumpkin and then secure them with wire.

Here is the wire holding the opposite ends.

And here they are, I was able to make two of them from the wire I had.

5 minutes to make two pumpkins.
Fun, fast, easy, and beautiful!

Now that is so clever. I love it. They look fabulous on your mantel. I just may have to give this a try. Thanks for the tutorial. Thanks also for linking to TTT. Hugs, Marty

Wow! How'd you EVER figure that out? I still can't believe it's that simple, but it sure LOOKS easy. Very nice!
